Now it's time to say good-bye
to all my HIT IT friends
H I L Y M I T
Always remember friends...
- To the tune of the Mickey Mouse Show closing song
As of the 25th of November 2007, the legacy of HILYMI will continue on only in screenshots, videos, memories, and our hearts. I tried to be a council to the officers and assist in the transition of them taking over leadership, but noone really stepped up properly to take the torch. It's beyond repair and the final act itself I didn't even get wind of it prior to action. I picked the best of the best officers to hold office in this guild reinstated them as officers forever on these boards. If anyone wants to take up the torch of this guild you may, although I don't blame anyone if they want to let HILYMI gracefully take the virtual dirt nap that it needs to take.
Gnarsokar, Mogani, Baliku, Hatred, Juan, Gix, Viperson, Jehosephat, Orcinus, and MANY others have come over to Tabula Rasa. Anyone is welcome to come along as well. Click here to see all the HILYMI members who have crossed over. I have influence in the clan I joined although I will not be the leader. I will make sure the ends up having the same "Feel" hit it, at least old school hit it had. This way I can enjoy the game, be as casual as I need to be at times of school or work stress and will be as influential as I need to be in the clan to make sure it's a success.
Thank you all for your time over the last year, I will miss you all. For those who come along for the Tabula Rasa ride visit http://www.tr-browncoats.com and tell them that Victeonus sent you. _________________ Livistos / Soriathus

I'm sad to see that it has come to this, but I cannot say that I didn't expect it after Vic and Ray retired. They, really, where the only thing keeping this guild together. Nevertheless, this guild was the greatest I have ever had the pleasure of being a part of and I hope that some of its members keep in contact.
Remember the good times, remember all the friends you made and the good times you had, remember everything we have accomplished and everything we have overcome... and NEVER FORGET HIT IT LIKE YOU MEAN IT!

It is very sad to see it end up this way. it is true Vic was the core heart of the guild and after he left i tried my best to step up but i didn't remotly compare. we were loosing people daily and good people too people we needed to have kept our heads above water, and more would have left and went there seperate ways had we not done this merger. at least here we still have the family of HILYMI at the same time we can continue to raid and progress...Just under a different name. Vic you were a great mentour to me and i wish we had spent more time on guild stuff. i feel at best responsible for the merger and hated to see that we didn't make it. it was the last thing i wanted for me and for the guild. I will always be around and able to talk to. Vic please don't be mad at me i did what needed to be done to be able to keep playing this game. _________________

You had my phone number, you could have called me. That's all I just wanted to have a heads up so that I played a part in the the final hours of the guild.
What's done is done. I'm not one to hold a grudge (except for that kid who needs to play in traffic). _________________ Livistos / Soriathus

OK, let's get real. I see a lot of pointing the finger at Liv & Gnar, Ven, those who left, and/or the officers. I think we all need to see the big picture. Now, I'm not in on any officer conversations, so you'll have to take my point of view for exactly what it is - just my own personal observations.
We had a rough merger with EK.
We had some serious problems with former members of the guild (no blame here, just pointing out that it took a toll).
We changed our loot system twice.
We had a failed merger with TFS.
We were challenged in moving to 25-man encounters.
Liv and Ray left the game.
Guildies started leaving with higher and higher frequency.
So, who's to blame? Holy crap, why even ask such a question. I doubt anybody would disagree that the guild was in a weakened state. I also doubt that any one of those instances could have caused the guild to fail on its own. So in the most fair way possible, I think we should all give each other a break. We all had something invested in HILYMI, and we had a bunch of challenges - some of which we (each individually) chose to take on and some of which we chose not to take on.
So, really, be kind to each other. _________________

| Yeah, What Fhearl said. Think of this as sort of like a funeral. Try not to think of the bad times, don't go blaming people for the eventual outcome of the onslaught of unfortunate events that have been pounding the guild in recent weeks... just think about all the good times. The things we've done together, the memories we made and the friendships that reach out far beyond the limits of this virtual world... of warcraft. |
